“Cortijos&dehesa” offers the opportunity to discover 5 tour routes. You can plan your route according to your interests. We offer a rural landscape with a diverse, plural and rich environment. Travellers can visit a great farm with indigenous animals and learn how they live and reproduce as well as discovering what is wildlife in the dehesa pasturelands. You will also have the chance to enjoy the great flavors of our region, discover the traditional homemade dishes and how to prepare them. We will show you deeply our region in a tour route through the most emblematic and peculiar villages. And finally, for those who wish, we can visit Córdoba, a Word Heritage city full of wonderful places to visit.


Much has been said, but little is actually known about the jewel of the Spanish production: The “Jamón ibérico de bellota”.
The Iberian ham is the result of traditional breeding which has been used since time immemorial. From birth pigs grow in the the dehesa pasturelands using to good effect the resources available. The free range mast feeding, the free-ranging and the final fattening stage, basically acorn, complete a process that worth getting to know in-depth. If desired, the tour can be completed by visiting the curing process of the hams and the processing industry of the Black Iberian pig.

The Black Iberian pig and its offspring are the main animals of the dehesa pasturelands, but also you can enjoy the breeding of lambs and calves in the region. Here you will learn what a Dehesa is and how it has been preserved for hundreds of years. You can also discover our native breeds, always linked and adapted to the environment to ensure its quality and development process.

The gastronomy of the region is another aspect that defines the region and attracts large numbers of tourists, a rich cuisine with specialties based essentially on the Iberian pork products, and a wide variety of cakes and pastries. Los Pedroches’ Valley possesses a unique and varied food that we will be glad to share with our visitors. Iberian hams and all Iberian pork products, lamb shanks and roast pork cooked in traditional wood fired ovens, or beef tenderloin are some of the options that you can order.

If what you want is to know more about our culture, our way of life, our people, the taverns of the villages in Los Pedroches’ Valley and the charming story of villages such as Pedroche, Belalcázar, Dos Torres, this is your best choice!
